For the past 6 years I have known that my front porch needed to be painted. The banisters and pillars have been chipped... the floor is peeling. The trim on the door and windows is a hideous shade of brown. In fact, it makes the front windows look like bars on the windows.
It wasn't until I started seeing clients in my home that I realized my porch looks like the entrance to the Bates Motel.
After ignoring my porch for all these years I came to realize, once I started to clean it up, that there was some water damage, so I actually have to replace quite a bit of the wood. A job I actually enjoy. However, I don't care to spend the money right now.
In the end as my porch gets nicer, I realize that this is my face to the public. This is what clients see about the type of person I am when they walk to the door. Not in an ego way, but it says, "hi", welcome, this is a safe and comfortable place...You will find it relaxing here.
So the metaphor for life...if you ignore a problem it just gets worse...it rots...until removed, dealt with, or painted. Clean and neaten your space today for your own peace of mind..it's good feng shui.
Love yourself and everyone today!
Best,
Thomas
