It is said that the first sign of age is when regret appears in our lives. Two friends of mine, who have lived together for many years exemplify this principle.
They have held the belief that they were never provided for by their parents, like so many of their friends. They were never "set up" in the world or left an inheritance or legacy.
Interesting enough, the pair have lived a very comfortable life, not really denying themselves any of life's pleasure. They have a nice place to live, comfortable surroundings and friends who are interested in their well being.
Unfortunately, from an early age they had regret, which has been like a chain around their necks. It has caused them to prematurely age, lose mobility, and enter a stage of life that should be well beyond their current years.
Think of one thing you regret today. Why? What would have taken place if you had gotten what you wanted or thought necessary? Would you be were you are today? Do you appreciate the things you do have?
Do you understand you are exactly were you need to be right now, at this very moment?
Spread the Peace,
Thomas

These words are so true of so many of us. It's like we can't let go and that restraint seeps into everything we do like the love we share and the challenges we take on. Its sort of like weighing ourselves down and starting in the hole. Life is too short to be making ourselves play catch up all of the time. Thank you for putting this feeling into words.
