Feng Shui

The art of organizing your surroundings to energize your life. I must admit, that although I am very aware of energy and space around me, I have only dabbled in Feng Shui throughout my life.

By dabbling I mean, arranging my furniture, adding energizing colors, wind chimes, and water features to enhance my surroundings. Well, perhaps that's more than just a dabble.

In the last few days as I have been writing and looking for ways to inspire and uplift myself. My thoughts came back to the practice of Feng Shui. I quickly hauled out my books and started looking around my house. I realized, the challenging areas in my life translated into the rooms that were challenging and in disarray in my house.

By disarray I mean, "in the process of being remodeled". "In the process of being remodeled" could have described my whole house at one time. But now, as projects have been completed and the place becomes more livable, even cozy, I see how the improvements have brought about life changes.
So yesterday, I put Feng Shui to the proverbial test and started working on a room which was in need of finishing...the downstairs bathroom. This bathroom is in the wealth and prosperity section of my house and although I am comfortable, I wasn't feeling all that prosperous.

So, I began...drywall hanging, wall spackling, priming, and space cleaned. Amazingly, just the beginning process have already created a positive effect. In just one day, new clients have taken an interest in my practice, I have a new teaching gig, and I can feel the flow happening. I can't wait to finish the room now and see what else will happen.

Have you ever spent time looking at your space and experimenting with Feng Shui? I find it's best to work with it as an experience rather than just take someone's word that it works.
Does your space bring chaos or joy into your life? Play around with Feng Shui and see what happens. There are various books on the subject. Check them out.

Most importantly, have fun...cleaned and organized spaces improve energy greatly. Especially children's rooms. Have the kids help...as Mary Poppins says, "Well begun is half done"

Have a great day. Be good to yourselves and each other.
Best,
Thomas
